Help Plan the
Future of Cascade Avenue
The City of River Falls,
in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin-River Falls (UWRF) and
the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT), is developing a
Concept Plan for Cascade Avenue from Spruce Street to Wasson Lane.
Public input into the process and comments on problems and potential
solutions took place in the spring. A second public meeting to discuss
concepts will be held on Monday, September 24, 2007 in the St Croix Room
(room number 321) of the University Center on the UWRF Campus. The
public meeting will consist of three parts:
5:30 to
6:30 p.m.: Open House with Technical Committee Members
6:30 to
7:30 p.m.: Presentation and General Questions and Answers.
7:30 to
8:30 p.m.: Individual Discussions with Technical Committee Members.
Those attending the
meeting will be asked to comment on the various concepts and ideas that
will be shown. No specific concept or plan has been selected yet; the
comments received will be used in the selection process. A list of
problems and concerns, a number of potential solutions and several goals
and objectives have been developed from comments received at the first
meeting.
A
presentation at 6:30 pm will discuss the various concepts along with
some of the positives and negatives associated with the concepts. Work
to date will be reviewed and the next steps in the process will be
presented. Public comments and input will be taken at the open house, at
individual discussions and at the presentation (as time permits).
Comment cards will be available.
The public input will
help guide the development of a final concept for Cascade Avenue. The
study is expected to be completed by the end of the year and a third
public meeting, to review the final recommendations, will be held on
November 26.
