Site 1A, on the Kinnickinnic River, is a temperature monitoring site that has been operated by the Kiap-TU-Wish Chapter of Trout Unlimited since 1992. The site is located immediately upstream of potential impacts from the Sterling Ponds Development.

Location: Quarry Road right of way just east of the STH 35 bypass.
