YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARIAN

 

The City of River Falls, Wisconsin (population 15,000, service area pop. 20.000), a rapidly growing university community located just east of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metro area, is accepting applications for the position of Youth Services Librarian.  This position requires an ALA accredited MLS and experience in children’s and young adult areas.

Responsible for all aspects of children’s and young adult programs and activities including storytimes, summer reading program, class visits, book discussions, children’s reference and reader’s advisory, collection development and cataloging, and some supervision of support staff.  Candidates must have good background in children’s literature.  Must be energetic, creative, enthusiastic, and must have good organizational skills and strong communication and public relations skills for promotion of youth services and networking with community, schools, and other organizations.  Scheduling includes one evening and rotating weekend shifts.  Excellent salary and benefits package.  Wisconsin residency required.
