The team established six (6) monitoring sites within the
North Kinnickinnic River Monitoring Project Area. The sites were selected based upon:
1. Their upstream or downstream relationship to the development being
studied.
2. Ease of access due to public property or easements.
3. Flow characteristics of the site. Were they appropriate for the
type of sampling needed? For example, good "mixing" is critical for
accurate temperature monitoring. Where possible, the monitor was placed
in, or immediately below, a section of the river that had good riffles
for the mixing of the water.
