River Falls Fire Department: Information/Reports

 Department Description

      The River Falls Fire Department serves the city of River Falls and the Towns of Troy, Kinnickinnic, River Falls, Clifton and Pleasant Valley. The department is made up of 50 volunteer firefighters that are paged to respond to incidents.  Each member is a certified firefighter and trained in responding to medical emergencies. Apparatuses include 4 engines, 2 tenders, 1 ladder, and 2 brush/wildland trucks.

     The Fire Department responds to a wide variety of emergencies including structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, grass fires, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and water-related emergencies. The water-related emergencies involve the Kinnickinnic River and Lake George. The Department also engages in a fire prevention and public education program in the River Falls schools and through fire inspections.

     The Department also works closely with the EMS and Police Departments in providing emergency services and provides back-up mutual aid to surrounding departments when called upon.
