Swimming Lessons
Registration
Lessons are available from June through August for all ages and levels. To see a complete schedule, please see our Program Brochure. To register call 715-425-0924.

Pre-Swim Classes
Classes are 30 minutes long.

Parent/Child
This class is for a parent and their child. Age is restricted to 1-3 years, and a parent must be in the water with them. One child per parent.

Bubbles
This class is targeted for children ages 4 and 5, who are not yet in Kindergarten. They will learn to enter and exit the water independently and breath control underwater. This class will prepare children to confidently enter into Level 1. Parents do not attend with child in water.

Swim Classes
All swim classes are 45 minutes long.

Level 1: Intro to Water Skills

This beginning level is for children 5 and 6 years of age, who have completed Kindergarten. They will learn to submerge their head for 3-5 seconds, exhale underwater through their mouth and nose, open their eyes underwater and retrieve submerged objects, float on their front and back, explore arm and hand movements, swim front and back using arm and leg movements, and entering and exiting water independently.

Level 2: Fundamentals of Aquatic Skills
This level is for children that have passed Level 1. They will learn to jump off the pool's side, exit on a ladder, front and back glide, tread water, swim front and back using combined strokes, and swim on their side.

Level 3: Stroke Development

In this level, children will learn the back and front crawl with arm action, the butterfly kick and body motion, diving from a kneeling position, survival floating, and changing from horizontal to vertical on their front and back.

Level 4: Stroke Improvement

In this level, children will learn to perform a shallow dive, perform open turns on their front and back, tread water, the front and back crawl, the breaststroke, the butterfly stroke, backstroke, and sidestroke.

Level 5: Stroke Refinement
In this level, children will learn survival swimming, how to perform rescue breathing, standing dives, front flip turn, back flip turn, front and back crawl, the butterfly stroke, the breaststroke, the sidestroke, and endurance swimming.

Level 6: Water Safety & Fitness Swimmer
This class will be divided into two focuses. You will be learning endurance swimming and how to perfect all your strokes. Also, you will be focusing on many different personal water safety techniques. You will be tested on two things. One test sheet is on your strokes, and one test sheet will be on your water safety techniques.

Special Levels 1 & 2: Beginning 8+
This level is for children that are ages 8 and older who have never had swimming lessons before, or have who a fear of the water. They will work on both Level 1 and Level 2 skills depending on their abilities.

Guard Start

This class is to teach children water safety and the duties and responsibilities of a lifeguard. It will build a foundation of knowledge, attitudes, and skills in preparation for being a life guard. You must be 11-14 years old and pass the Level 5 swimming test to participate. This class is 60 minutes long.
