Greenwood Tree Concert
Thursday, May 1 at 7 p.m.
Bill Cagley and Stu Janis, also known as Greenwood Tree, play hand-clapping, foot-stomping Folk music (Ireland, England, Scandinavia, Appalachia, and more) of all ages, for all ages. Come join the fun!


Free Comic Book Day
Saturday, May 3, is Free Comic Book Day across North America. Pioneering mini-comic and stick-figure artist Matt Feazell, whose work has also appeared in Disney Adventures magazine, has created a special version of his latest Amazing Cynicalman mini-comic for libraries to distribute. Stop in and pick up your free copy, and check our catalog for lots of other great comic books and graphic novels.


Peggy Creapo Pribil Program
On Sunday, May 4 at 2 p.m., hometown girl Peggy Creapo Pribil will be doing a 'make & take' program featuring aromatherapy, how to make organic beauty products, and more! She hopes that mothers and daughters, sisters, grandmothers and grandchildren will come together for this pre-Mother's Day program. Peggy works with Rebecca Kolls of gardening and TV fame. She did a similar program for the Tuesday Club and it was educational and great fun, too. A perfect combination!


Silent Spring, the Next Generation
Thursday, May 15, 7 p.m.
Sponsored by the St. Croix Valley Inter-state Sierra Club and the River Falls Public Library, this Endangered Species Day event focuses on the threat to song birds and features speaker Mark Peterson, executive director of the Minnesota Audubon Society.


Parade Sculpture Teacher Training
Sunday, May 18 from 1-5 p.m.
This free workshop, led by Chris Lutter of Puppet Farm Arts, is designed to teach those who will be running work groups making giant parade puppets, props or costumes for either The Phipps Center for the Arts 25th Anniversary Parade on July 19th or River Falls Days Parade on July 11, or both! Third Tuesday Book Club
Jane Eyre -
Tuesday, May 20 at 7 p.m
The next title for the Third Tuesday Book Discussion at the library will be Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte.  Copies are available for check out at the library. The discussion will be held on Tuesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. and is open to everyone. Nancy Miller will be the moderator!

Meetings for the Third Tuesday Book Club will be at 7 p.m. in the board room in the library. 


Scrabble Club
The next dates for the scrabble club are:

  • Thursday, May 29, 6:30 - 9 p.m.

All are welcome to come and play.  If you have a board, please bring it.


Recycle Your Printer Cartridges
Don’t throw away your empty printer inkjet cartridges! Recycle them at the library!   You can drop off inkjet cartridges at the Reference Desk.
