Rescue Organizations and Humane Societies

Humane Society of Pierce and St. Croix Counties
The Humane Society of Pierce-St.Croix, Inc. is a nonprofit organization relying on private donations, grants, memorials, shelter fees, and bequests to keep our shelter doors open.  The Board of Directors and Executive Director are all volunteers. The shelter serves both Pierce and St. Croix counties, taking in over 1,000 animals a year.

GPA Wisconsin Greyhound Adoption
Greyhound Pets of America (GPA) is a nationwide non-profit, volunteer-supported organization dedicated to the placement of ex-racing Greyhounds in ideal home situations.  We are a Greyhound-placement organization that accepts Greyhounds primarily from the Wisconsin Greyhound racetracks and local shelters. Through a network of local veterinarians, our organization provides full examinations, spaying, neutering, dental care and other needed medical procedures prior to adoption.

German Shorthaired Pointer Rescue of Wisconsin
We believe that the German Shorthaired Pointer is a special breed with special needs--needs which are sometimes overlooked by people when purchasing a dog. We understand the breed and can offer a service by screening prospective adopters to find these lost dogs a good home. We want to work with adopters and agencies to see that no GSPs are left in shelters or are put down for inappropriate reasons.

Wisconsin Chow Chow Rescue
Since 1985, Wisconsin Chow Rescue has been giving homeless Chow Chows a second chance at the life of love and happiness that every pet deserves. Our volunteers provide services from saving Chows from the brink of death at animal shelters to helping owners learn more about their dogs. We can help with almost every question about Chow Chows and responsible dog ownership.

Wisconsin Siberian Husky Rescue
WISH is a group of volunteers passionate about and dedicated to Siberian Huskies.  It is their mission to get all huskies out of "kill" shelters, homes where they are unwanted, off the streets, out of puppy mills and into homes where they will be given proper food, shelter, love and affection.

German Shepherd Rescue Alliance of Wisconsin
On March 30, 2001, German Shepherd Rescue Alliance of Wisconsin, Inc. ("GSRAW"), was incorporated, although operations had begun in the support of the defined mission more than one year prior. GSRAW has no shelter and operates utilizing a phone, post office box, and internet networking system. Occasionally, boarding kennels are options used to save an animal's life. Although we are newly formed, collectively our members have many years of experience in evaluating
temperaments, fostering, placing and training German Shepherd Dogs.

Retrieve A Golden of Minnesota
Retrieve A Golden Of Minnesota, Inc. has been rescuing golden retrievers since 1985. Our non-profit organization is comprised of hard working volunteers whose only reward is seeing these wonderful Goldens placed in loving, permanent homes and given a second chance for a happy life. Our process may seem slow, but if you are patient, we will try to provide you with a devoted, loving companion -a Golden Retriever. Thank you for your interest.
