Cat in a Red Hot Rage by Carole Nelson Douglas, finds Temple Barr and Midnight Louie up to their tails in froufrou, chapeaux, and murder when the Red Hat Sisterhood convention hits Las Vegas. After a woman is found strangled with an official Red Hat Sisterhood purple scarf, and Temple's landlady Electra is accused of the murder, she begs amateur sleuth Temple to find the real killer by posing as a pink-hatter, an under-fifty member.

American Outrage by Tim Green, follows Jake Carlson, one of the nation's top television journalists. Jake is used to dragging himself through the dirt to get to the truth, but when his adopted son, Sam, asks him to help find his birth mother, Jake is stunned by the ugly secrets he unearths: an international crime syndicate, a child trafficking ring, and a corrupt politician. Initially galvanized by a career-making exclusive, Jake--and his son--are soon the victims of brutal violence and Jake realizes some sins of the past should never be uncovered.

Dream When You're Feeling Blue by Elizabeth Berg, is the story of three sisters living in Chicago at the time of World War II, their lively Irish family, and the men they love.

In The Blue Bottle Club by Penelope J. Stokes, four friends gather in a cold, dusty attic on Christmas day in the wake of the depression of 1929 to make a solemn pact, placing tiny pieces of paper holding their life wishes into a blue bottle. Life takes the girls' dreams of love, fame, and success on a twisted path of difficulty caused by seduction, betrayal, and loss--and nothing turns out as expected. Sixty-five years later, local news reporter Brendan Delaney stumbles upon the bottle, discovering the most meaningful story of her career and possibly the meaning missing from her own life.

Ten Thousand Charms by Allison Pittman, follows the lives of Gloria, a former prostitute who has a son by a man who will never know or care, and John MacGregan, a miner left with a newborn daughter when his wife died during childbirth. They strike a bargain: Gloria will care for little Kate McGregan and John will raise her son, Danny--but marriage isn't mentioned. When John seeks his fortune in the new Oregon Territory, Gloria, the children go with him. Over time, Gloria pretends that her dreams of her own family have come true--but when her fantasy turns to fear, where will she turn for comfort and the love she longs for?
