The
French Fur Trade
From the Wisconsin Historical Society. Provides
links to original documents and other primary sources about the French
fur trade in Wisconsin from 1650 to 1850.
Pierce
County Historical Association
Since 1941, our volunteers have been dedicated
to preserving the heritage of Pierce County, Wisconsin, through public
education and collections of historically significant manuscripts,
artifacts, documents, and books. We provide research assistance at our
office and through mail and email requests. The PCHA office and
archives are located in the village of Ellsworth, established as the
Pierce County seat in 1861. We own and operate two history sites in
Bay City, Wisconsin, maintain an 1885 rural schoolhouse at the Pierce
County Fairgrounds in Ellsworth, and oversee a pre-history era symbol
on a bluffside near Hager City.
River Falls Area
Research Center & University Archives
One of fourteen research facilities in a statewide
network coordinated by the Wisconsin Historical Society in partnership
with the University of Wisconsin System. The River Falls Area Research
Center and the University Archives operate within one facility but are
two distinct entities, each with their own collections.

University of Wisconsin-Madison General Library System and the State

From the Wisconsin Historical Society. Includes
links to Turning Points which features most important events of our
state's history, with hundreds of eyewitness accounts, pictures, and
museum objects, new ones added daily, The Wisconsin History Explorer
which uses the properties documented through the National Register of
Historic Places program to tell stories about Wisconsin people and
communities, and other resources which include Wisconsin local history
& biography articles, Wisconsin historical images ,Wisconsin
Magazine of History, dictionary of Wisconsin history, Wisconsin
historical collections, and a topic list.
The Wisconsin Stories
Project
Wisconsin Stories is a partnership between the
Wisconsin Historical Society (WHS) and Wisconsin Public Television (WPT).
Wisconsin Stories is a 20-part series highlighting intriguing tales
about the state, its people and its past. Wisconsin Stories grew out
of the well-received, award-winning work the WHS and WPT did to mark
the state's Sesquicentennial in 1998.
