Separate your recyclables into three basic categories:

  1. Place metal and Aluminum Cans, Glass Bottles & Jars, and Plastic Bottles in the recycling bin.  They do not have to be separated, however do not use plastic bags.

  2. Place Newspaper and Magazines in a brown paper grocery bag, set on top or next to the recycling bin.

  3. Corrugated Cardboard should be flattened and not larger that 2’ x 2’ in size, place next to or underneath the recycling bin.

Placement: 

All recycling bins must be placed curbside for collection.

Pick-Up Day:  

Weekly collection on the same day as your garbage service. 

Preparation Tips:

  • Metal food cans and aluminum beverage cans (Labels do not need to be removed).

  • Glass bottles and jars (green, brown, and clear glass) labels do not need to be removed.

  • Plastic bottles include #1 and #2, commonly found in soda bottles, milk jugs, and detergent bottles (no oil containers or lids).

  • Newspaper should be placed in brown paper bag (no plastic bags please).

  • Include magazines and catalogs with the newspapers.

Non-Recyclable Items Include:

  • Hazardous waste containers

  • Food contaminated packaging

  • Paper cups

  • Plastic cups

  • Waxed paper or boxes

  • Packaging material

  • Bathroom wastepaper

  • Aerosol cans

  • Paint cans

  • Gasoline containers

  • Light bulbs

  • Windowpanes

  • Mirrors

  • Plate/window glass

  • Pottery

  • Ceramics

  • Dishes

  • Medicine containers
