Officer of the Year

2016 Officer of the Year

Officer Chris Gottfredsen has served as a member of the River Falls Police Department since 1998.  He has served in many capacities and for the last eight years has been entrusted with the position of School Liaison Officer.  The School Liaison Officer is a position that requires trust, compassion, patience, sacrifice, and knowledge.  Officer Gottfredsen embodies all of these qualities in a unique blend of being amiable, having common sense, and of course, using just the right amount of humor.

Officer Gottfredsen works tirelessly as a police officer, but perhaps more importantly as a teacher for the children.

Officer Gottfredsen is recognized by the school district, the police department and the community as an indispensable resource and was chosen by the Renaissance Academy to receive the “2016 White Knight”.  Although he is widely praised, in a recent summary of his position that he authored he ended by saying, “I would like to thank the school district for the continued support.”

It is hard to sum up what Officer Gottfredsen does for the school district, the police department and the community.  He has done a remarkable job and is the River Falls Police Department’s 2016 Officer of the Year.  Congratulations Officer Chris Gottfredsen.
