Smart Thermostats

A smart thermostat is a Wi-Fi enabled device that “learns” your habits to help you manage your home heating and cooling costs. It adjusts your HVAC equipment based on your home’s unique energy profile and the weather outside. You can save energy and money (around $120 annually) without sacrificing comfort. You can control it with your smart phone and it will notify you when your HVAC system is operating at top condition so you can stay ahead of any maintenance needs.

River Falls Municipal Utilities’ customers can receive up to $50 for the purchase and installation of a smart thermostat. Smart Thermostat Incentive Application.

Tree Power Program

Planting a tree on your property, which naturally filters the air, can also produce shade for home which reduces your energy bill. RFMU is offering additional savings by providing a rebate of $25-$35 for each tree that you plant. Simply plant a tree and take a picture. For information on how to apply, visit the application link.

Central Air Conditioner

Your central air conditioner may lose up to five percent of its original efficiency every year. That can increase your utility bills, shorten the life of your equipment, and reduce the comfort level in your home. A simple tune-up and inspection of your central air conditioner can keep it running efficiently and save you money.

We are offering a $50 chamber check incentive to customers who have their central A/C units serviced by a professional service technician. To apply for this incentive program, download the Central Air Tune-Up Incentive Program Brochure and Application.
