Shelters

Glen Park, Hoffman Park, and DeSanctis Park have shelter buildings that can be reserved online at riverfalls.activityreg.com beginning at 8 a.m. on the first business day of the year for the current calendar year. 

Making a tentative reservation online will hold your spot, and we will send out confirmations and receipts the next business day.

A fee and/or damage charge will be invoiced if damage or breakage occurs, or if the shelter is not left in a clean and rentable condition.

Only blue painter’s tape may be used to adhere decorations to shelter walls. Nails, staples, tacks and the like are prohibited. No candles, glitter or confetti. Renters and their guests must follow all park rules.

If there are no reservations, the open-air shelters are available for free on a first come, first served basis. A reservation calendar is hung at each shelter.

Cancellations

Cancellations must be made at least two weeks prior to the reservation date to receive a refund (minus the cancellation fee of $10 for open shelter or $40 for enclosed shelter). A refund (minus cancellation fee) for a cancellation made within two weeks of the reservation date is contingent upon the shelter being reserved by someone else. Contact the Parks & Rec office to cancel a reservation and request a refund.

Residency

A City Resident is any person who lives within the corporate city limits of River Falls and pays property taxes to the City. (Non-residents such as those that live in townships do not pay property taxes to the City to help fund parks and shelters.)

Severe Weather Emergency

In case of severe weather emergency, the general public must be allowed to enter a storm shelter even when it is reserved by a private party.

Alcohol Policies

Alcohol is allowed in Glen Park, Hoffman Park and DeSanctis Park. If your gathering is having a keg or another large container of alcohol, please complete a keg form and return it to the Parks and Recreation Department at least a week before your event. A $50 deposit will be required. Glassware is prohibited.

Softball Fields & Volleyball Courts

There is no fee to reserve a field or court. If lights are needed, there is a $10 per hour charge. If there are no reservations, fields/courts are available on a first come, first serve basis. Fields and courts may be reserved by calling Cindi at 715-426-3420.
